Adding More ITV 1 Regions to Sky Digibox

Follow the procedure below to add additional ITV regions on your Sky TV receiver if you live in England, Wales or Scotland.

This information has been updated in September 2008 following the recent transponder changes which affected ITV1 Meridian SE and North, Anglia West, Yorkshire East, Tyne Tees South and Central South West - all of which moved Sky Digital transponders.

In order to add more regional ITV 1 channels to a Sky TV Box (out of your normal viewing region), follow the procedure below. Please note that ITV reception may not be possible outside the UK, or a large satellite dish may be required.

Procedure

  1. Press "Services" on the Sky handset (button 4)
  2. Select "Add Channels" by pressing button 4 again on the Sky Handset.
  3. Enter the five digit frequency (from the table below) using the handset number buttons.
  4. Move to the next Sky onscreen menu item (below) using the down arrow button.
  5. Use the left / right arrow button to select the correct polarity (H or V) from the table below.
  6. Use the down arrow buttons to set Symbol Rate and FEC as shown in the table below.
  7. Scroll down to the "Find Channels" option onscreen menu and then press "Select"
  8. Select the ITV 1 region/s required and press the Sky handset yellow button to store it.
  9. Press "Backup" repeatedly to exit the "Add channels" menu.

Add ITV Regions to Sky EPG

To add the additional ITV 1 regions, press "Services" on the Sky handset and then scroll down to "Other Channels" (button 6). Simply scroll down to the alternative ITV1 region you have manually added and press select to view it. To return to your existing Sky EPG channels by using the Channel up and Down buttons on the Sky handset.

It is not possible to add the additional ITV1 regions into the Sky EPG. This makes things a little awkward as access to these ITV channels to view them must always be made through Services > Other Channels. In case you are unaware, all BBC1 and 2 regions are transmitted on Sky EPG channels 941 to 962.

The above frequencies can also be used on a Freesat digibox, consult your instruction book with your receiver

Sky say ITV1 High definition is not available in STV area but can also be added as follows (Sky HD+ box only)

Frequency 10832, Polarity Horizontal, Symbol rate 22000, FEC 5/6

                                                 Or ITV1 HD in London

Frequency 10936, Polarity Vertical, Symbol Rate 22000, FEC 5/6

The easiest way to add ITV1 HD on a freesat box/television is to input a Borders or English postcode.                                    This will set BBC1 BBC2 and ITV1 to that region.
